Two Arrested Relative to October 24, 2020 Shooting on Common Street

This afternoon, two individuals were arrested relative to the shooting that occurred on October 24, 2020 on Common Street at approx. 10:30pm. At that time, multiple units were dispatched to a residence on a report of a shooting that had just occurred. Initial reports were that the victim had been shot in the head. First arriving officers were met by the 18-year-old victim, who was alert and conscious. Officers tended to the victim until paramedics from Brewster Ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to South Shore Hospital and later transferred to a Boston Hospital, where he underwent surgery.Preliminary investigation revealed that this incident was not random. Witnesses reported a light colored or white sedan in the area of the shooting when it occurred. The vehicle fled towards Copeland Street.

This afternoon, Vincent Whitlow, 20, of Quincy turned himself into the Quincy Police on an outstanding warrant for Armed Assault With Intent to Murder, Assault & Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Discharging A Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card. He is expected to be arraigned at Quincy District Court this afternoon.

With the assistance of the Braintree Police Department, Jeanrodley  Louis, 20, of Quincy, was placed under arrest in Braintree on an outstanding warrant for Armed Assault With Intent to Murder, Assault & Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Discharging A Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card. He is expected to be arraigned at Quincy District Court this afternoon.

Based on a thorough investigation by detectives assigned to the Quincy Police Bureau of Investigations, detectives believe that Mr. Whitlow was the shooter, and Mr. Louis was the driver of the vehicle. The 18-year-old victim has been released from the hospital.
