On Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at approx. 7:34pm, Officer John O'Donnell was working a paid private road detail. He overheard a radio transmission regarding an armed robbery in progress at the CVS Pharmacy located at 42 Beale St. Officer O'Donnell, less than a block away, ran over to the CVS and observed the suspect in the alcove exiting the store. Officer O'Donnell immediately detained the suspect while responding officers further investigated.
A female employee stated that the suspect approached the counter and passed her a note demanding Xanax and Oxycodone. She stated that the suspect kept his hand in the front of his jacket as if he had a weapon. Once he received the bottle of prescription medication, he fled the store.
Nicholas Queen, 27, of Granger St, Quincy was placed under arrest for the robbery. On scene, officers recovered the note, a bottle containing 63 green pills (believed to be Alprazolam), and a folding knife. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court this morning.
