The 49-year-old female involved in a reported robbery that occurred on March 25, 2019, on Russell Park, will be summonsed to Quincy District Court for Filing a False Police Report. As part of a thorough investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance in the area of the crime scene. When Detective Eddy re-interviewed the alleged victim, she confessed that she had made a false report.
The facts and circumstances as originally reported on March 25th are as follows: At approx. 11:12am, Officers responded to a report that a female that had been assaulted on Russell Park. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the 49-year-old female victim, who had visible injuries (cuts/bleeding). The victim stated that approx. 15 mins earlier, she was walking the dirt path behind the tennis courts on Russell Park when the suspect approached her from behind. He threw her to the ground and stole money from her purse. The suspect then fled towards Faxon Field, leaving the purse behind. Officer Donovan deployed his canine, Hodor, who located the victim's sneakers and jacket in the wooded area in which the suspect fled. The victim described the suspect as a black male, early 20's, bald, clean shaven, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black shoes.
