Environmental Treasures: Celebrating the Winter Solstice in Merrymount Park

On Friday December 21 at 4:45 PM, take a break from the hectic pace of the season to join Park Dept. Program Manger Paul (Doc) Doherty and Sally Owen for a quiet stroll through Merrymount Park by moonlight!  The winter solstice is at 5:23 p.m., marking the longest night of the year.  The moon will be almost full as we wander woodland paths, past salt marshes to the boat pavilion at Black's Creek.  Dress warmly and BRING A FLASHLIGHT!  There may be roots and rocks on the trails which will be hilly in places so you might want to bring a walking stick.

Meet in the parking lot at Adams Walk off Merrymount Parkway (Rt. 3A) near the intersection of Hancock Street (across the street from Veterans Memorial Stadium).
