Captain Steele Promoted During Ceremony Held This Morning

Congratulations to Captain John Steele, who was promoted in a ceremony early this morning at City Hall.

Captain Steele began his career with the Quincy Police in 1993. He attended the Foxboro Police Academy, 16th M.P.O.C. After graduating, he was assigned as one of the department’s first Community Policing Officers in the Germantown area, where he worked until 1995. He returned to the Patrol Division and in 2000 he was assigned as a detective in Community Services Unit (now called the Special Investigations Unit) where he investigated sex crimes and juvenile offenses.

He was promoted to Sergeant in 2002 and Lieutenant in 2005. He has been a Lieutenant in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations since 2008 and graduated the FBI's National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Session 260, in June of 2015.
