Environmental Treasures: September Tours

Poetry by the Sea (Part 2!) and Beach-combing at Squaw Rock!

Due to inclement weather, this tour has been postponed until Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM

Ilani D'Alfonso will read some of her lovely poems about the ocean as we stroll around Squaw Rock followed by the opportunity to explore the beach at low tide with coastal citizen scientist Peter Fifield.  Bring water, bug spray and wear long pants and socks that can cover pants bottoms (to minimize tick exposure). Meet in the Nickerson Post parking lot at the end of Dorchester Street in Squantum.


Birding tour through Passanageset Park

Join the South Shore Bird Club to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act with a birding tour through Passanageset Park.  Meet at the Quincy Youth Hockey Arena parking lot, 60 Murphy Memorial Drive off Sea Street.  Bring binoculars if you have them.


Premiere Screening of "A Wing and a Care"

Quincy premiere screening of "A Wing and a Care," a Shawn Carey film about 3 men working to protect birds. Film will be shown at Thomas Crane Library Community Room, 40 Washington St.
