This morning, August 7, 2017 at approx. 12:34am, officers responded to Palmer Street and Brockton Ave on a report of a motor vehicle that struck 2 utility poles. Preliminary investigation indicates that a Ford Utility truck was traveling on Palmer Street, into Germantown, when it struck the utility poles, two parked cars, and flipped. Speed appears to be a factor.
An 18-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger, a 17 year-old male, was taken to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries. A third occupant of the vehicle, a 22 year-old male, was transported to Quincy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No further information on the operator or passengers is being released at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Quincy Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and members of the Norfolk District Attorney's Office. Charges, if applicable, will be filed once a thorough investigation has been completed.
