The 70th Annual Flag Day Parade & Celebration will be held this Saturday, June 12th, at 7pm. The parade will feature bands, floats, a lot of flag-waving, and will finish with a dazzling fireworks display at 9:00pm that will be visible from the shorelines of Wollaston Beach, Squantum, Adams Shore, Houghs Neck, and Merrymount. The 1.2 mile parade begins on Coddington Street, proceeds north on Hancock St to Merrymount Pkwy, ending at Adams Field. There will be no ceremony at Pageant Field this year.
Road Closures: Coddington St will close at approx. 5:15pm. Hancock St (northbound) will be closed at Washington Street once the parade begins. Hancock St (southbound) will also close at Fenno St/Standish Ave once the parade starts. Please seek an alternate route. Road closures will extend beyond the actual route and roads will open as the parade progresses.
Parking: Please obey all temporary and permanent NO PARKING - TOW ZONE signs and barriers. If you are going to the fireworks remember the beach spots will fill up quickly. Parking regulations/signs in the surrounding neighborhoods vary so please pay close attention.
This will be the first large event since COVID. Please bring your patience and be respectful of each other. We will have officers all along the parade route, and during the fireworks, to ensure your safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please let one of us know.
