Community Preservation Committee Meeting - 797 Quincy Shore Drive

The City of Quincy has finished working with the owners of 797 Quincy Shore Drive, the site formerly known as the Beachcomer night club. The City is submitting a request to the Community Preservation Fund to purchase the site, demolish the building, and turn the site into open space. 

The Committee is looking for residents’ comments on why the City should use funds to purchase the site and turn into open space. Comments can be submitted by going on-line via zoom meeting or by  e-mail to  kpowers@quincyma.gov before the October 14th meeting by 5:00 PM.

The Community Preservation Committee will be taking up matter of purchasing the site at its scheduled meeting on Wednesday, October 14th at 5:00 PM. Due to the current pandemic the meeting is being held on-line and will done by Zoom, please click here for information below on how to attend meeting via Remote Zoom Video Conference.


CANCELLED - Community Meeting - 2020 Roadway and Infrastructure Construction 

Out of an abundance of caution Ward Five Councillor Chuck Phelan has cancelled the upcoming Ward Five Community Meeting on the 2020 Roadway and Infrastructure Construction scheduled for Thursday, March 19th at Central Middle School.

The roadway and infrastructure work that was to be discussed at this meeting is scheduled to start in the coming weeks. This work varies by location but may include water main repair, gas main repair, sewer repair and paving and sidewalk improvements. Those residents that will be directly affected will be notified prior to any road closures and other temporary inconveniences.

Ward 5 City Councillor Chuck Phelan will be holding office hours twice a month in the City Council Office at City Hall. Any Ward 5 Resident is welcome to attend the office hours.
