Become a citizen scientist and participate with Peter Fifield in the City-wide Nature Challenge!!  Download the iNaturalist app on to your smart phone (problem downloading?  Come early for help).  Learn to identify European and native oysters and count them.  Use the app to document other marine life.  Rubber boots and gloves recommended.  Meet at the intersection of Huckins Ave. and Bayside Road.

Black's Creek Clean Up for Cleaner, Greener Quincy

Don't forget the Cleaner, Greener Quincy  city-wide clean up (now in its 29th year!) Saturday, May 5 complete with free t-shirt and barbecue at 12:30 p.m.!! Pick your own favorite location (call (617) 376-1251 to register) or join the Environmental Treasures team to clean up the Black's Creek estuary along Furnace Brook Parkway.  We will meet at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Furnace Brook Pkwy. and Longwood Road.  The trash in Black's Creek can make its way into the ocean and harm marine life.

The Mystery of the Stone Benches!

Numerous stone benches, some in plain view, others hidden in the woods, each unique, are found throughout Faxon Park.  Who made them? How were they built?  Join Sally Owen for a stroll through the Park as we try to answer these questions!  Children welcome!  Meet at the parking lot by the pavilion at the top of the park off Faxon Park Road.
