Park and Forestry Department

Welcome to the Park & Forestry Page

The Park and Forestry Department is overseen by the executive director and staffs 22 full-time employees. In addition to maintaining more than 52 active and passive municipal park locations, the Park & Forestry Department cares for city beaches, trees in the public way, landscaped traffic islands, school grounds and assists with various special events.

The Park & Recreation Board comprises nine volunteer members responsible for promulgating rules and policy for parkland as well as reviewing and granting field permit requests. Visit the Park & Recreation Board link for field permit applications and additional information.

This site contains information intended to assist you in utilizing the services we provide. Our goal is to balance the needs of the public with the overall needs of our park system and urban forest.

It is our hope that this information creates a better understanding of the services and facilities available to the residents of Quincy.

We would be happy to hear any suggestions as to how we can better serve the public through this site.
