The City of Quincy Office of Emergency Management operates and maintains the City
Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The EOC features state of the art communications and information sharing systems, and is designed to support emergency response, continuity, and crisis management activities.
The Emergency Operations Center is activated whenever there is an incident or potential incident that poses a significant threat to life or property that requires a unified command posture employing multiple agencies, jurisdictions, or area command structure. When activated the EOC provides resource management and additional logistical support as required and requested by the Incident Commander.
The City of Quincy Emergency Operations Center operates in accordance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS), which was established by FEMA and includes the Incident Command System (ICS). NIMS is used as the standard for emergency management by all public safety agencies in the United States for both planned and emergency events.
