The Quincy Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for potential hazards that may impact the local area. The Quincy CERT trains members in disaster preparedness and response skills, such as basic sheltering, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster operations. CERT offers an approach to volunteer training and organization that provides members with the knowledge to assist public safety professionals during disaster situations, which allows responders to focus on more critical and complex tasks. Through CERT training, community members can enhance their overall capabilities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
The Quincy CERT conducts periodic training courses in disaster preparedness and is actively seeking volunteers and members of the community to participate.
