and Automated Meter Reading System Project

The Quincy Department of Public Works, through its contractor Easton WinWater is replacing 21,000 water meters and installing 24,000 transmitters throughout the City. The meter replacement work began in September 2010 in the North Quincy /Squantum area, is progressing throughout the City based on the current meter reading schedule over a 2.5-3 year period. The completed project will greatly improve the reliability and accuracy of water meter reading operations and increase efficiency of the DPW.

Setting up an Installation Appointment:
Easton WinWater Services will need to gain access to each water customer's house or business to install a new meter and therefore a person over 18 must be present at the time of installation. This installation typically requires 30-60 minutes. Please be aware that Easton WinWater Services will contact you via U.S. mail, and you must respond within 2 weeks to schedule your appointment. Once you receive notification, you are requested to call toll free at 1-866-983-8080 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Monday through Friday, or CLICK HERE for the Easton WinWater Appointment Scheduler to schedule your appointment
For your Safety:
We remind the residents of Quincy not to respond to unsolicited phone calls or home visits. All personnel installing water meters are issued identification and will arrive in uniform and marked vehicles. CLICK HERE to verify individuals' names and pictures.
