*** PRESS RELEASE/RECENT UNARMED ROBBERIES ***

07/21/2010

 The Quincy Police Department wants to make the community aware of a recent trend of unarmed robberies.  In the past 5 weeks there have been 5 unarmed robberies in the Wollaston/Montclair area of the city.  In 3 of these incidents the victims were walking from the Wollaston train station.  4 of the 5 victims were of Asian descent and 4 were females and their purses were targeted by the suspect. 

 These robberies are occurring between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.  In four of the incidents the suspect has been described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, 5'10" tall. 

 Resident's are asked to be aware of their surroundings at all times, particularly late at night and if any suspicious person's are observed, please contact the Quincy Police immediately. Patrols have been increased in the area by both uniformed and plain clothes Officers.
