The Quincy Council on Aging is hosting an Alzheimer's / Dementia Support Workshop for Caregivers. Facilitator Ellie O'Neill of South Shore Elder Services will discuss issues relating to caring for someone with Alzheimer's or related Dementia. She will address each particpant and their specific needs or questions.

Thursday February 16th from 10-11 AM Kennedy Center
Dr. David Smith of Milton Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, Inc. will discuss back safety. Back injuries are exceedingly painful. They are difficult to heal, and they have an effect upon everything a person does. It is important to learn techniques and procedures that may help you prevent a reoccurence. By learning proper lifting techniques and the basics of back safety, you may be able to save yourself a lot of pain....and a lifetime of back problems.

The clinical staff of John Admas Healthcare Center will present the signs and symptoms of COPD. They will discuss: current treatments, preventative measures and coping strategies.

Friday March 23rd at 1 PM - Kennedy Center
Cathi A. Thomas Ms, RN, CNRN, the Nurse Coordinator of the American Parkinson Disease Association Center at Boston University Medical Center will be at the Kennedy Center to give a presentation on Parkinson's Disease.
During the past twenty-five years Ms. Thomas has provided care to individuals with Parkinson's disease and their families. As a Clinical Nusre Specialist in neurorehabilitation, she has developed programs to assess the impact of Parkinson's disease on a patient and family and to assist them in coping with this condition. Ms. Thomas has participated in over 40 research studies in Parkinson's disease and is an active member of the Parkinson study group.

The "Old Kids" is a dance band in the style of the big bands of the 30's and 40's. The big band recreates the glamour and romance of an era that lasted ten years. Retired and semi-retired musicians are part of a resurgence of interests in live, glamorous and romantic music. The band was formed in 1991 and consists of six saxes, four trombones, four trumpets, four on rythm and a vocalist.
The 'Old Kids" have been called a living museum. Their library of music of another era will have you dancing, humming, and tapping your feet.
