Funerals
- All requests for Monday funerals MUST be received not later than 11:00 a.m. on the previous Saturday.
- No funerals are allowed on: Sundays, New Year's Day, martin Luther King Day, Presidents' day, Patriots' Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Interments
- A notice of at least 24 hours is required for all interments. Funeral Directors MUST have all requests for interments signed by the owner of the lot or a legal representative. Interment fees MUST be paid for in advance or by the Funeral Director at the time of the funeral and be accompanied by the burial permit and signed interment order before proceeding. The cost of interments, which includes lowering device and evergreen grass, is available at the Cemetery Office.
- A concrete liner or concrete vault is compulsory with all interments.
- If a steel vault is used, only one burial will be allowed in that grave.
- Two cremation urns will be allowed in each grave; conditions permitting.
- Scattering of cremated returns is not allowed in the city's cemeteries.
Foundations
- All monuments, headstones and markers must have a foundation built by the Department of Public Burial Places.
- No foundations will be poured from May 20th to June 1st of any year due to Memorial Day preparations or after November 15th due to ground conditions.
- A check to cover the cost of the foundations MUST accompany the order or no foundation will be poured.
Perpetual Care
- Perpetual care covers the maintenance of the surface of the lots and graves, mowing of the grass, seeding, loaming and
- fertilizing when necessary; but does not include care of any kind of the monuments, headstones, markers, bushes, shrubs or plants.
- The cost of Perpetual care is available at the Cemetery Department office.
